This article discusses modifying orders in the Shippit user interface. For information about modifying orders using the Shippit APIs, see the developer documentation.

What orders can be modified?

You can modify any standard or express order that has not yet been labelled.

You may also be able to modify priority and on demand orders, depending on your carrier settings. To check your settings:

  • Go to Settings → Carriers → Smart Carrier Allocation

  • Find the setting called Book orders allocated to these carriers (and click&collect if applicable)

    • If it's set to As soon as the order is created, priority and on demand orders are labelled as soon as they're created, and can't be modified afterwards

    • If it's set to Only when the order is labelled, priority and on demand orders stay editable until you label them

Modifying an order

  1. Log in to your Shippit account, navigate to the New orders page, and locate the order that you want to modify.

  2. Click the menu icon on the far right side of the order, and select Modify order.

  3. In the order panel, adjust the details as required. A new quote is generated.

  4. When you're happy with the updated details, click Confirm to confirm the order.

💡 NOTE: You can also edit the Package, Carrier, Status, and Cover directly from the New orders list, by hovering over the cell and clicking the dropdown that appears.
