When you can't pick or pack an item as ordered, flag an exception to record the problem and keep moving through the rest of the order.

Flag an exception on an item

Flagging an exception is available on one-step pick and pack orders. It isn't available on two-step pack.

Flagging an exception while picking

  1. On the pick screen or in the scanner overlay, tap Flag exception for the item you can't fulfil

  2. Select a reason: Not Found, Short Qty (partial), Wrong Barcode, Item Damaged, or Other

  3. If you select Short Qty (partial), enter the quantity you do have available

  4. Tap Flag Item

The item is marked with an exception and you can continue picking the rest of the order.

Flagging an exception while packing

  1. On the pack screen, tap Flag exception

  2. Select the item and a reason, then tap Flag Item

Continue the order after an exception

When you've picked or packed everything you can, Pick & Pack shows Split & Continue, Hold Order, or both, depending on what's left in the order.

Splitting and continuing the order

If you picked or packed at least one item, tap Split & Continue. Pick & Pack moves the flagged items to a new order and puts that new order on hold, so you can continue with the order in front of you.

On the pack screen, a banner shows how many flagged items still need to move to a new order. Generate Label stays unavailable until you tap Split & Continue to resolve them.

Holding the whole order

Tap Hold Order at any time to put the whole order on hold instead, including any items you already picked or packed. If nothing in the order can be fulfilled, Hold Order is the only option shown.

The order moves into the Exceptions tab on the queue screen straight away, so you and your warehouse manager can find it without waiting for a refresh.

A held order keeps its flagged items, so your warehouse manager can find the stock and decide whether to reallocate or cancel it.
