How picking works

Workflow modes: Pick & Pack, Picker, and Packer

## Camera shows a black screen

Pick & Pack needs camera permission to scan barcodes.

1. Go to your device **Settings → Apps → Pick & Pack → Permissions**
2. Enable **Camera**
3. Reopen Pick & Pack

If the camera is working in other apps but still shows a black screen in Pick & Pack, close and reopen the app.

## Scanner fires twice (double-scan)

Go to **Settings → Scanner** and set scan speed to **Slow**. This reduces sensitivity and prevents double-scans on fast barcodes.

## Camera is slow or laggy

Close and reopen the pick or pack screen. If the issue continues, restart the app. On Android, switching between zoom levels and back can cause camera lag — resolved in the latest version.

## Wrong barcode is being matched

Ensure you are scanning the product barcode, not a shipping label or outer box barcode. In Guided pick mode, only the current item's barcode is accepted — an error tone plays if you scan a different item.

## Android back button closes the app while the scanner is open

Update Pick & Pack to the latest version. This issue is resolved — pressing the Android back button while the scanner overlay is open now closes the overlay instead of exiting the app.

## Camera torch turns off unexpectedly

Tap the torch icon in the scanner overlay to toggle it back on. Manual torch state is maintained independently of the scanner — update to the latest version for the most reliable torch behaviour.

## RF scanner keyboard doesn't appear

When using a software keyboard alongside an RF scanner, the keyboard may be suppressed. Tap directly into the input field to force it to appear.

In Pick list mode, every item in the order is visible at once. You can pick items in any order — scan any item, tap its row counter, or work through the list from top to bottom. Pull Mode automatically assigns orders to you one at a time, so you never have to browse the queue or worry about two pickers claiming the same order. When Pull Mode is on, the Pull Mode screen replaces the queue as your starting point. Tap Start Next Order and the app assigns the next available order to you. Getting started takes just a few minutes. All you need is your Shippit login — no API keys or manual configuration required. Setting up your account

Pick & Pack supports three workflow modes. Choose the one that matches how your warehouse is organised. Pick & Pack (default) One operator handles the complete fulfilment cycle — picking items, packing the parcel, and generating the shipping label. Both the pick and pack steps are shown in sequence for the same operator. Best for: Small teams, or operations where one person handles each order end

If your products don't have barcodes — or you prefer to confirm picks manually — Pick & Pack can be used without any scanning hardware.
