If you have a Global-e account, you can integrate it directly with your Shippit account. Global-e is an end-to-end cross-border platform that handles checkout, payments, duties, taxes, shipping, and returns. This allows you to provide a localised shopping experience for your customers and manage your global operations from one dashboard.
This article covers how you can use Shippit with your own Global-e account. If you don't have a Global-e account, get in touch with your Shippit account manager and ask them about the different options available to you.

Want a turnkey solution to expand internationally
Are a large brand or retailer planning to globalise rapidly

Using Global-e to ship with DDP and DAP/DDU
When you ship internationally, you'll need to decide how duties and taxes are handled. The two most common options are DDP and DDU.
Delivery Duty Paid (DDP): You (the seller) take responsibility for all customs procedures and pay any import duties and taxes on behalf of your customer. This creates a smoother, faster delivery experience with no surprise costs upon arrival.
Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU or DAP): Your customer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes. This means your customer will be contacted by customs to pay any fees before their order is delivered.
Our Global-e integration is built to handle these complexities, offering guaranteed landed cost options, including the pre-payment of import duties and taxes at checkout.
For more information about DDP and DAP/DDU, see the understanding incoterms article.
What checkout options do I have?
Global-e provides a fully localised checkout experience. This includes support for over 100 currencies, 30+ languages, and more than 150 local payment methods.
You can configure the checkout to:
Offer pre-payment of all import duties and taxes for a guaranteed landed cost
Localise messaging and payment options for each specific market
Include local returns options
How are duties and taxes calculated and paid?
Global-e simplifies billing by acting as the merchant of record (MoR) in many markets. This means Global-e handles the import processing, tax registration, and currency risk.
Here’s how the billing generally works:
Your customer pays at checkout. Global-e calculates the entire transaction value, including the goods value, guaranteed landed cost, and all duties and taxes.
Global-e manages payment. As the MoR, Global-e processes the payment. They deduct duties, taxes, and fees, and remit the remainder to the merchant.
You book the order in Shippit. You use Shippit to generate labels and manage the logistics, while Global-e manages the financial compliance and cross-border payment flow.
