Packaging your items correctly is extremely important and helps avoid damaged goods, delays or loss of items. Here are some general guidelines we have compiled from our carrier partners
Choose the right package
Choosing high quality packaging that matches the size of your items is key. Avoid tight boxes or packaging that does not allow enough space for protection and padding. Conversely, avoid boxes that are too large for your items as these packages may be crushed. Never send solid items in soft packaging like satchels or envelopes, as the risk of tearing is much higher.
Protect your items
We recommend closed cell packing foam or EPS foam for any fragile items, and our carriers always advise that marking items as fragile will not protect them while they are in a vehicle or mailing bag.
Make sure to remove or completely mask any old labels if necessary, and affix new labels to a flat side of the package, avoiding any gaps, seams or edges.
If using satchels, ensure that the package is completely closed and any dead space is taped in. When using boxes and cartons, make sure to seal all seams with secure tape - our carriers recommend a simple H pattern affixing flaps to the box on all sides.
If you remember nothing else:
Packages should be able to withstand a drop from chest height without sustaining any damage.
