Is there insurance for damaged or lost goods?

 

Whilst our Approved Carriers do their best to ensure safe transit of your goods, sometimes things don't go to plan and in extraordinary circumstances, loss or breakages can occur during transit.

We hate these situations as much as you do, but we are here to help and advise you where we can!

Some of our partnered carriers offer complimentary insurance, whilst others don't.

Couriers Please 

  • Couriers Please offer complimentary insurance that's automatically included when you book with Shippit. 
  • if the courier is found at fault for a missing/damaged item, they will cover up to $1000AU for the wholesale value of goods. 
  • there is a $100 excess fee on each claim.

  • terms are subject to change without notice or advice
  • Shippit is not involved in the insurance claim process this is resolved between the sender (yourself) and the courier directly
 

Fastway 

  • Fastway offer complimentary insurance that's automatically included when you book with Shippit. 
  • if the courier is found at fault for a missing/damaged item, they will cover up to $1000AU for the wholesale value of goods. 
  • there is no excess fee to make a claim

DHL Express and International

  • The services do not currently offer complimentary insurance when you book with Shippit 

 

TNT and Allied Road Express Services

  • TNT and Allied Express do not currently offer complimentary insurance options therefore this is not included when booking with Shippit.
  • They specifically cater for larger/oversized goods where items are normally palletised with minimal chance of breakage if packaged correctly. 

 

Bonds (Priority Same Day)

  • Bonds do offer complimentary insurance when booking with Shippit however terms + conditions apply.
  • Complimentary Insurance covers up to $3000AU for the wholesale value of goods
  • a $100 excess fee is applicable to each claim
  • claims are subject to investigation by Bonds and must be declared 'courier at fault' before a claim can be submitted
  • please contact Shippit for help with Bonds Insurance Claims.

 

BYO - DHL E-commerce

  • Shippit cannot assist with insurance claims as you own the account with this carrier, please see your DHL Account Manager for full terms and conditions.

 

BYO - Australia Post and Startrack
