What does Authority to Leave (ATL) mean for my delivery?

Authority to Leave (ATL) is permission provided by the sender to deliver a package in a safe location without obtaining a signature.

The benefit of a package that has had ATL enabled can be:

  • Your package will almost always be delivered on first attempt
  • Contactless deliveries keep drivers and receivers safe
  • You won’t need to arrange a redelivery or find your package at a collection point

How are packages delivered when they have ATL enabled?

The driver will look for a safe place to leave the package when there is no one home at the address to provide a signature. If no place is deemed safe, the carrier will take the package to their nearest depot/collection point.
