Scan verification explained

Updated 2 months ago
Scan verification controls whether operators must scan an item's barcode to confirm it, or whether they can confirm items by tapping a button instead. There are two independent settings — one for picking and one for packing — so you can require scans at one stage without requiring them at the other. ## Optional (default) Operators can scan a barcode to confirm an item, or tap **[+]** to confirm it without scanning. Best for operations where some items don't have barcodes, or where speed is the priority. ## Required Operators must scan a valid barcode before an item can be confirmed. The **[+]** button is visible but disabled — scanning is the only way to pick or pack an item. Best for high-accuracy operations where mis-picks are costly. ## How to change scan verification * For picking: **Settings → Pick → Pick Verification** * For packing: **Settings → Pack → Pack Verification** Set each to **Optional** or **Required** independently. Even in Required mode, the **[−]** button is always active — operators can always correct an over-pick without manager intervention.
