Request a freight analysis

Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise your shipping strategy by comparing your current performance against Shippit’s resell rates.

Updated this week

A freight analysis is a data-driven review of your shipping history designed to identify commercial savings and operational improvements. The freight analysis process uses your actual booking data within Shippit to find the best-fit carrier products for your business.

This article discusses what Shippit assesses when we do a freight analysis, and how you can use that information to improve operations, and save money.

Why request a freight analysis

Manual data analysis is time-consuming and prone to errors. Shippit provides an analysis of your account to help you:

  • Identify savings: Discover if you can benefit from switching to Shippit resell rates across different service tiers.

  • Improve sustainability: View the impact of carbon-neutral offset options alongside your commercial savings.

  • Scale your operations: Identify expansion opportunities by seeing how different carrier mixes perform for your specific lanes.

  • Actionable insights: Receive a targeted report focusing only on the carriers and rates that suit your current shipping profile.

What the report includes

The freight analysis report provides a comprehensive view of your shipping profile based on your historical data. The report includes:

  • Consolidated comparison: A single view across multiple rate and plan tiers.

  • Commercial savings: Total potential cost savings identified by moving specific volume to Shippit resell rates.

  • Sustainability value: Carbon offset emission data associated with your current and projected bookings.

  • Annualised summary: A breakdown by carrier showing margin per order, total volume, and total potential annual margin.

How to request an analysis

Because your shipping data is already available within the Shippit platform, you can request a freight analysis by reaching out to your Shippit account manager.

Your Account Manager asks you to complete a Statement of Work (SoW) to authorise the Commercial Shipping Team to access and analyse your data.

Once authorised, our team pulls your historical data directly from the system. No manual data entry is required from your side.

Please allow 7 to 10 business days for the freight analysis to be completed.

Actioning your results

Once the analysis is complete, your Account Manager will walk you through the results.

To realise the savings:

  1. Review the carrier products: Look at the suggested resell carriers and the calculated "margin per order" for your highest-volume lanes.

  2. Confirm activation: Decide which suggested resell carriers you want to enable on your account.

  3. Account Update: Your Account Manager will add the selected products to your account profile, ensuring the new rates are applied to your future bookings.
