Mapping Parcel Attributes from PeopleVox to Shippit

This is possible using the configuration option through our settings page. This needs 3 simple steps:

Step 1. Login to Shippit → Go to Settings → Integrations.

Step 2. Select PeopleVox → Orders Tab → Order Package Settings

Step 3. Select ‘Items and Parcels”

This will ensure that the parcel attributes sent by PeopleVox are passed on to Shippit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why are rate cards needed for all my carriers?

This is to ensure there is minimal lag time between when the warehouse packer requests a label and when Shippit provides it.

  • Why does "High Priority" need to be enabled on my account?

Similar to the first question, this is to ensure that any requests made between Peoplevox and Shippit are completed immediately.

  • Why are my Peoplevox shipping methods not being pulled into Shippit Integration Settings?

This is due to a configuration error in the Peoplevox Integration Templates. To check:

  1. Are the expected field names specified?

  2. Are field names configured in the Export tab?

  3. Are case sensitive field names configured correctly?

  • Why are my Peoplevox locations not being pulled into Shippit Integration Settings?

This is due to a configuration error in the Peoplevox Integration Templates. To check:

  1. Are the expected field names specified?

  2. Are field names configured in the Export tab?

  3. Are case sensitive field names configured correctly?

  • What integration templates do I need to upload?

This depends on your preference and on what printers you would use at your packing station. The labels must be generic and different enough so that it can be easily recognised at the end of the packing process (or wave) . This makes it easier for the packer to re-process an order. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to configure this but you may request a template from us if you need assistance.

  • What shipping documents can I print with the Shippit Integration?

Currently the integration supports:

  1. Outbound Shipping Label

  2. Customs Invoice AKA Commercial Invoice

  3. Air Way Bill

The integration does NOT support:

  1. Packslip / Pickslip

  2. Invoice

  3. Returns Label

  4. Dangerous Goods Declaration

  • Does Shippit update the sales order with tracking information as soon as I book an order?

No, the tracking information is passed back at the time a label is generated by Shippit.

  • What are the default weight and dimension unit types in the integration?

Weights are assumed to be in kilograms (kg) and dimensions are assumed to be in metres (m). If the unit type is explicitly specified on the product or SKU, Shippit does the conversion.

  • Does the integration support partial fulfillment?

Yes & No. The Peoplevox platform will handle the workflow when an order can only be partially fulfilled. This can be done by creating a order that only contains what has been packed and therefore is ready to be shipped.

  • Can I sync tariff codes from PeopleVox to Shippit?

Yes. Tariff code is not a native item field in PeopleVox but it can be set-up as a custom field. Once you've ensured that your have tariff codes saved as an item-level custom field, then Shippit can pull that field as the item’s tariff code.

  • Can I sync Goods Description codes from PeopleVox to Shippit?

Yes, the description is automatically retrieved from the item name in the order upon syncing. It must be noted that once an order is synced into Shippit, none of the changes made against the same order in PeopleVox automatically updates Shippit.
