This article covers the different types of delivery estimates that you can access through your Shippit account, and provide to your customers to track their orders through the shipping network.

The different types of delivery estimates

There are two main types of delivery estimates:

You can provide highly accurate delivery estimates to your customers on your product pages or at checkout. This uses the estimated delivery dates (EDD) feature, and is AI-powered with Shippit intelligence, based on millions of data points across the Shippit network. Delivery dates provided by the EDD service are usually precise single dates, such as "Tuesday, 24 November".

For more information about EDD, see the Understanding estimated delivery dates article. For technical information about implementing EDD on your product pages, see the Developer centre.

You can also provide dynamic delivery estimates at checkout. This is based primarily on the status updates provided by the chosen carrier, with additional information from Shippit's extensive network data. After purchase, your customers can track their package using Shippit's dynamic tracking page. Delivery dates provided by the dynamic delivery estimates service are usually date ranges, such as "Between Monday 23 and Wednesday 24 November."

For more information about tracking statuses, see the tracking status article. For technical information about consuming tracking status updates, see the Developer centre.
