StarTrack is an Australia Post business that provides parcel, freight, and logistics services. They offer a vast national delivery network with standard, express, and on demand services.

Services available

  • StarTrack = Shippit standard service level

  • StarTrack Premium = Shippit express service level

  • StarTrack Airlock = Shippit express service level

  • StarTrack 2U = Shippit on demand service level

  • StarTrack Ad Hoc = Shippit on demand service level

Compatibility

StarTrack standard and express are suitable for:

  • Satchels, cartons, and small consumer goods

  • Food and beverages

  • Alcohol with prior approval

  • Consolidated, unpalletised freight

  • Dangerous goods - limited with prior approval from the carrier ensuring you are compliant with dangerous goods packaging and labelling guidelines. For more information, see the dangerous goods matrix.

Not suitable for:

  • Heavy bulky freight or pallets

StarTrack On Demand are suitable for:

  • Satchels, cartons, and small consumer goods

  • Alcohol with prior approval

  • Consolidated, unpalletised freight

  • Heavy bulky freight

Not suitable for:

  • Dangerous goods

  • Pallets


Surcharges

Charges that can be identified at the time of booking are included in the API quote at the time of booking however additional surcharges may apply for undeclared goods or special goods. For more information, see the Carrier Surcharge Article.


Insurance

Complimentary loss or damage insurance is not included when booking with Australia Post through Shippit unless you have it included in your own BYO account. Alternatively, you can enable Shippit Transit Protection to cover your orders for loss and damage.

Dangerous goods

You can only ship dangerous goods with StarTrack with prior approval. The only service levels available for dangerous goods are StarTrack standard and express.

Check the StarTrack guidelines for accepted dangerous goods and limitations, and seek approval from StarTrack to ship dangerous goods. When you have received approval from StarTrack, contact the Shippit configuration team to configure your Shippit account.


On demand services

Shippit offers the StarTrack On Demand services using the Shippit APIs. When you construct your order payload, you need to use the correct code to select the appropriate time window.

StarTrack Airlock

StarTrack Airlock works in the same way as StarTrack Premium, but orders shipped using the Airlock service require a recipient signature on delivery.

If you need to ensure that your orders are received only by the named recipient, use StarTrack Airlock to ensure that the driver hands the parcel only to an authorised person, and collects their signature on delivery as proof of delivery.

To enable StarTrack Airlock on your account, email the Shippit configuration team.


Activation

We currently only offer a BYO account configuration with StarTrack through Shippit, using your own BYO carrier account. To set up your integration, email the Shippit configuration team with these details:

Our team review your details and usually gets back to you in 1-3 business days. However, account activation for BYO can take 1-2 weeks to complete.
