Modify orders

You can modify orders after they have been created. Update orders to get everything right before you label and book a carrier.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Mistakes happen, and sometimes, a customer might need to update a delivery address, or you might spot a typo. You can also add or change products in the order, adjust the packaging, and add additional notes or delivery instructions. You can modify or update order details in your Shippit account at any point after the order has been created, right up until you confirm the order and it is labelled and booked with a carrier. This can help you maintain order accuracy, manage order changes efficiently, avoid misdeclaration charges, and ensure you are offering a positive customer experience.

This article discusses modifying orders in the Shippit user interface. For information about modifying orders using the Shippit APIs, see the developer documentation.

Modify an order

You can modify any standard or express order that has not yet been labelled.

โš ๏ธ IMPORTANT: You can't modify Priority or On Demand orders, because these orders are labelled when you create them. As soon as an order is labelled, you can no longer make changes.

Modifying an order

  1. Log in to your Shippit account, navigate to the New orders page, and locate the order that you want to modify.

  2. Click the menu icon on the far right side of the order, and select Modify order.

  3. In the order panel, adjust the details as required. A new quote is generated.

  4. When you're happy with the updated details, click Confirm to confirm the order.
