About transit protection
Transit Protection covers you for the full retail price of your shipped goods, not the wholesale or cost price. This means your goods are protected against loss or damage up to a maximum value. With no fees to file a claim, a streamlined claims process, and the ability to turn the service on yourself from your Shippit account, Transit Protection can save you time and money.

By default, transit protection is enabled on all your carriers. If you want certain carriers to be excluded you can opt-out the carrier from your transit protection cover. This is useful if you have complimentary carrier insurance with a particular carrier. Search for the carrier in the Opt out of specific carriers section, and click Update to save your changes.
Manage your coverage
When you have enabled transit protection, you can see the covered value for your orders in the New Orders screen.
Cover column: This column displays the order value that is covered.
Automatic updates: If you sync orders from an ecommerce integration, the cover value updates automatically based on the product value.
Manual updates: If you manually create an order, or if the product value is missing, you can enter the value directly in the Cover column.
Shippit automatically adds the shipping costs to your cover value to ensure you are covered for the full retail value of your goods including shipping.

I can't turn on transit protection
If you can see the Activate button in your Shippit settings, but you can't click it, check that you are logged in as a merchant. You can also get in contact with Shippit support to make sure you have transit protection enabled on your account.
My order doesn't have transit protection
Check that you enabled transit protection before the order was imported or created. You can also check which carrier has been allocated to the order. If the allocated carrier has been opted out of transit protection, the order won't have transit protection added to it.
The cover value is incorrect
The cover value uses the product value, which comes from your ecommerce platform, or from information you added when you created the order. If the value is missing or incorrect, you can enter the correct retail value in the Cover column on the New Orders page before you book the label.
