Here's the current disruption to the Aramex NZ network as of the 28th of November 2025.
Ferry & South Island Delays
A ferry breakdown this morning is impacting freight transport into the South Island. Additionally, night-time road closures on SH1 are contributing to extended travel times.
Christchurch Depot Access
Significant roadworks near the Christchurch depot entrance are affecting access. The depot remains open and operational, but customers cannot enter via Jipcho Road onto McAlpine Street. Access is currently available only via Hayton Road onto McAlpine Street.
There are currently service delays of 1 working day in the following regions:
Hawkes bay
Check for delays in the affected suburbs due to unexpected events by visiting the Network Service Updates page.
Upcoming Public Holidays β Delivery Schedule
New U.S. Tariffs Effective 29 August 2025
Effective August 29, 2025, the U.S. Government has removed the $800 USD duty-free exemption for imports. This means all shipments to the USA will now incur duties and taxes, with most goods from New Zealand subject to a 15% tariff.
To comply, Aramex will hold all U.S.-bound shipments in Auckland until the applicable tariff is confirmed and approved. Customers can choose between DDP (sender pays upfront) or DDU/DAP (recipient pays on delivery, subject to a $12 USD ICOD fee).
Please ensure invoices include accurate values, clear product descriptions, and consignee identification to avoid delays. Aramex remains committed to supporting customers through these changes.
