Do I need to be home to sign for my parcel?

You don't need to be home to sign for a parcel. You can arrange an authority to leave (ATL), or pick up from a collection point instead.

The good news is that you don't always have to be at home to sign for your parcels!

There are a few different options if you think you won't be home to receive a delivery. The simplest is when you make your purchase, the merchant can request an authority to leave for your parcel. Many carriers now default to using authority to leave, and you can usually specify a convenient location for them to leave your parcel unattended. For more information about authority to leave, see our Authority to leave article.

If you missed the original delivery, you can:

  • Arrange to pick up your parcel from a collection point

  • Arrange to have your parcel re-delivered

Request to pick up from a collection point

If a carrier has already tried to deliver your parcel, you can book a redelivery to your address, or arrange to have your parcel sent to a local collection point. The available collection points vary depending on who the carrier is. Follow the instructions on the card that the carrier left for you, or contact the carrier directly to arrange to have your parcel taken to a collection point.
