Create and track orders that have more than one parcel

Updated this week

You can create orders that contain multiple parcels, which allows you to provide your customers with updates on the status of each package as they move through to network, making it easier to manage your shipments and keep your customers informed.

This article discusses tracking multiple parcels within an order, shipped from a single address. For information about tracking parcels that are being shipped from different addresses, see the split orders article.

Tracking multiple parcels

When you create an order with multiple parcels, Shippit generates a label, along with corresponding tracking numbers, for each package. You can track the status of each package individually using the Shippit tracking page or by receiving notifications via email or SMS.

You and your customers receive the following tracking notifications for each package in your order:

  • In Transit: When the package is first scanned by the carrier.

  • With Driver: When the package is out for delivery with the driver.

  • Delivery Attempted: When the driver attempts to deliver the package and is unable to deliver it.

  • Awaiting Collection: When the package is dropped off at a collection point and is awaiting pickup by the customer.

  • Completed: When the package is successfully delivered.

Your customers also receive an email when all packages have been delivered, marking the entire order as complete.
