Updated over a week ago

There are a range of invoices that Shippit might send you. This article discusses the different invoices, what charges are on each one, how to read them, and where to go to find them in your Shippit account.

The main types of invoice are:

  • Delivery invoice

  • Subscription invoice

  • Misdeclaration invoice

⚠️ Important: You must be logged in as a user with the Head office role to be able to see and download invoices in your Shippit account.

Delivery invoices

Delivery invoices list each of your bookings, along with the initial quoted price that you received at the time of booking.

Delivery invoices are sent weekly, on the 7th, 15th, 24th, and the last day of the month. If you are on a pay as you go (PAYG) account, the invoices are grouped by manifest instead.

The items charged on this invoice are:

  • Deliveries: order information including tracking, declared weight, volume, pickup suburb, and postcode, delivery suburb and postcode, and the initial quoted price.

  • Transit Protection: orders with transit protection enabled also include the order reference number and cost.

  • Redelivery charges: if a redelivery is attempted by the carrier, the redelivery charge is shown.

  • Returned to Sender: if an order is returned to sender, the returned to sender charge is shown.

You can download your delivery invoices from your Shippit account. If you would like to have delivery invoices emailed to you instead, contact our Accounts team.

Subscription invoices

Subscription invoices contain recurring fees such as subscription, location, SMS, and label fees.

Subscription invoices are sent at the end of each month.

The items charged on this invoice are:

  • Subscription fees: monthly subscription fee.

  • Included bookings: the included bookings for the month.

  • Booking fee: the label fee charged for each BYO booking.

  • Extra booking fee: if you exceed the number of included bookings, an excess booking fee is charged for exceeding plan limits.

  • Location fee: amount charged per billable location.

  • SMS fee: amount charged for SMS messages sent. These are charged per SMS, not per order.

You can download your delivery invoices from your Shippit account, if you are logged in as a Company. If you would like to have delivery invoices emailed to you instead, contact our Accounts team.

Misdeclaration invoices

Misdeclaration invoices are raised if a carrier has charged additional fees to complete a delivery. For more information about how and when misdeclaration charges happen, see the Understanding misdeclarations article.

Misdeclaration invoices are issued after Shippit has reconciled the carrier charges, which are issued 3-4 weeks after the booking was first billed on the delivery invoice. However, this can vary depending on when the carrier bills the corresponding booking, and the same order can have components billed separately over different misdeclaration invoices.

The items charged on this invoice are:

  • Deliveries - Misdeclaration: lists the tracking number, carrier job number, the type of charge, the remeasured charged weight, original declared charged weight, and cost breakdown.

Most misdeclaration charges occur when the carrier measured charged weight exceeds the initial declared weight and dimensions at the time of booking. Other types of misdeclaration charges can include additional services carried out by the carrier such as manual handling or residential fees. For a full list of misdeclaration charges, see the Misdeclarations and additional charges article.

Misdeclaration invoices are emailed to you directly. They are not available to view from within your Shippit account.
